Personality Types in a Women’s Group

One’s personality is made of different traits and behaviors that when combined make each of us unique.  It’s our own fingerprint – how people know us, how they experience our presence in this world.

All groups benefit from having different types of personalities participating. This helps to create a strong group.  For example if you only have quiet people, your group will never get off the ground.  In contrast, if everyone’s a talker, there can be pandemonium! Talkers and quiet personalities need to find a balance.  The talker needs to be aware of others in the group and the quiet ones may need to take a risk, step up, and participate.

Start A Women’s Group? Me?

Do I really want to start a women’s group? This may be a question you’re struggling with. Why not just join a pre-existing group? Why not find something tried and true already out there? The answers to all of these questions truly depend on what you’re looking to accomplish by being involved in such a group.

Chances are that if you’re seeking to be a part of a women’s group, you feel there’s something missing from your life. It could simply be female camaraderie. It might be that you have a particular interest but need an avenue in which to fulfill it.

Women Coming Together

Many people joke about how when women get together they can become jealous, competitive and “catty”. Such a negative stereotype certainly ignores the incredible bond and sisterhood that women generally share with each other.

Women experience so many things in life that are common across the board and tend to be common across different cultures and even across age ranges. This is why forming a women’s group can be something amazing for virtually every type of woman out there.

Happy Mother’s Day

Today in the U.S. it’s a special day to honor all of the “Mothers.”  If you are celebrating Mother’s Day today, share your love generously.

I researched when other countries celebrate “Mother’s Day” and saw that many celebrate today, but almost all countries have a date to honor the role of the importance of a Mother.

We wrote this post last year, and it’s time to remember the three most important roles in mothering: mothering ourselves, honoring our mothers and an awareness of the importance of our roles as mothers.

We Are Back!

It’s been awhile since we posted to Busy Bites.  We’ve been busy and lost track of time as it flew right by.

Karen has been busy with a cross-country move, settling into her new home, her daughter’s wedding on the West Coast and a wedding brunch on the East Coast, as well as serving her bread and butter clients.  The East Coast wedding brunch was somewhat diminished by a major snow storm, but we still had plenty of people there to celebrate this wonderful occasion.

Isn’t It Nice When Things Just Seem to Come Together?

Do you find yourself wishing for things to simply work out easily? That things should just plain go your way? No problems, no worries, no hassles? Me too! And amazingly, every so often we put our thoughts out there and everything works like a charm.

Let me tell you how my daughter’s bridal shower just seemed to gel to perfection out of thin air.

I recently moved from NY to Las Vegas, close to where my daughter and her boyfriend are currently living. The decision to move cross country was made about 2 weeks before my daughter called me with the good news: she was engaged. No more boyfriend, now fiancé.

What Does It Mean To Be A Woman?

Is there any one definition that best describes what it means to be a woman?   I know we share many physical similarities, yet even there we also differ…some bigger, some smaller.

Here are definitions on www.dictionary.com and Merriam-Webster isn’t that different.   Does this describe who you are as a woman?

1. the female human being (distinguished from MAN)
2. an adult female person
3. a female attendant to a lady of rank
4. a wife
5. the nature, characteristics, or feelings often attributed to women; womanliness.
6. a sweetheart to paramour; mistress
7. a female employee or representative
8. a female person who cleans house, cook, etc.; housekeeper
9. women collectively:  Woman is no longer subordinate to man

Do You Have A Will?

A will is important as it clearly states where you want all of your assets to go after you die.  If you have children, you decide who cares for them.

When you have a will the processing of your estate (assets) will be quicker and cheaper. The State doesn’t decide…you do.

…do you have a will?  Over half of all adults do not have a will, according to research from lawyers.com. Do you think women are more reluctant to complete their wills?

Here are some reasons people don’t create wills:

Starting a Women’s Group

Have you thought about starting a women’s group?   Maybe you stop yourself because you don’t know where to begin or have some idea but can’t seem to find the time to organize the group.    It does take some time to organize the group – though not as much as you may think – and the benefits all the women in the group receive are significant.

Women seem to naturally come together to share everyday activities.  Life is easier when you can shop, exercise or share a problem with a friend.  So creating a group around a specific topic feeds us emotionally.
