A women’s group is a perfect place to support each other with personal goals.   A great topic is around healthy living.   Each person may have a different goal, though the overall theme can be how to increase our physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Whenever we reach out to others to share our concerns, dreams and goals, we become stronger.    In a group you can take turns discussing what areas of health you want to work on, set goals and help each other meet those goals.   Encourage each other to start small and this way you can build your “success muscles.”

Most of us deal with stress everyday and are so use to it that we don’t even realized that we are living a stressful life.   Living in New York City you become anesthetized to the daily and endless challenges in maneuvering your way through the city.   Stress is part of life.

Though stress is part of everyone’s life, the question is how do you manage the stress you experience?  Do you even think that you can or just say to yourself “that’s life?”    Do you feel helpless and don’t know where to turn in order to deal with the daily hardships?   There are decisions and actions you can take to help you manage the stress levels in your body.

How to Love Your Changing Body

Throughout history women have mainly focused on their bodies and how they look to the outside world.  With so much attention to the body, how do we meet the challenge of the constant body changes? 

When you look at your body, what do you think?

Intellectually, we all know we get older and we all know we are getting older, yet our emotional life is in an uproar when our bodies don’t look the same.  Have you ever looked into the mirror and thought “who is that person?”  In your head you are still quite young, yet the body that reflects back from the mirror is an older, less familiar version.  Do you scrutinize every grey hair or potential wrinkle on the horizon, or have you simply stopped looking?

• Every two minutes, some woman, some place within the United States, is being raped.  That is 30 women every hour!  We don’t have the statistics for other countries, though the essence is not the numbers but rather the full understanding that women are vulnerable to being attack.

Whether you look online, turn on the television, or pick up a newspaper, you are likely to see something on global warming.  Global warming is a “hot” topic.

Do you believe in global warming?  Many people around the world are concerned about the effects of global warming.

There are two main areas of information around global warming. First is the negative affect that global warming is having on our planet, such as coastal flooding, erratic weather, and the concern around the viability of our planet.  Second is the discussion around prevention of global warming.

Are Your Bones Talking To You?

Do you think about your bones?  They are essential to our health and provide vital functions to sustain life and keep us active.  We probably all take our bones for granted which can cause problems later in life.

One of the most obvious functions of our bones is the body structure.  Our body is built around our skeletal frame. Without bones our body would have no structure and would have an extremely difficult time functioning.  To maintain this healthy structure it is important to take care of our bones.
